Renwick is hosting Reality U. again this year for all of our 8th and 10th graders.  Our 8th graders will attend the morning session from 10:00 - 11:15. Here are the details:

Reality U. is a financial literacy simulation that is provided by the Pando Initiative, which is based in Wichita. Students have to answer a Lifestyle survey where they pick a future occupation they are interested in, as well as their marital status, and whether or not they will have children and pets in the future.  By entering their current grade point average, the system provides students with a mock monthly budget.  Students that wish to be "married" are assigned a class partner to work with to complete the simulation. Students will have their individual printouts with them for the simulation, as well as a check register in which they have to record the purchases that they make at each of the tables.  Students must visit each table during the simulation and have to work to stay within their monthly budget.  It is a great learning experience!

All materials are very well scripted -- Reality U. makes this very easy! 
Everything is provided at the tables...dice to roll, calculators, pens/pencils, etc., so you don't need to bring anything with you.
