February Student of the Month

Dax lights up our classrooms! He bounces back from challenges with a resilience far beyond his years, always ready to try again with a steady, patient attitude. His classmates know they can count on him because he’s the first to offer help, one who listens, and a true team player who makes group work feel easy. His inquisitive mind pushes him to ask thoughtful questions, explore new ideas, and dig deeper when something sparks his curiosity. Whether he’s tackling a tough assignment or helping a friend figure something out, he approaches every task as a hardworking problem solver. He truly embodies the best of what a young learner can be.

Dax is in 3rd grade and was nominated by Ms. Stanton and Mrs. Kincaid.

dental health month

Dental Screenings

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, a great time to focus on the importance of healthy smiles and good oral hygiene habits!

Why Dental Health Matters
Good oral health helps children eat, speak, and learn comfortably. Daily brushing with fluoride toothpaste, flossing, and regular dental visits can prevent cavities and gum disease and support overall health.

Upcoming School Dental Screening
We are pleased to share that Dr. Brad Orth will conduct our dental screenings on February 20th. We will screen those students who opted in at enrollment. This screening is a brief, non-invasive check of your child’s teeth and mouth to identify any potential concerns that may need follow-up care.
  • The screening will be conducted during the school day
  • No treatment will be provided on site
  • Families will be notified if follow-up with a dentist is recommended
Helpful Dental Health Tips
  • Brush teeth twice daily for two minutes
  • Floss once a day
  • Limit sugary snacks and drinks
  • Drink plenty of water, especially fluoridated water
  • Visit the dentist regularly
Thank you for supporting your child’s health! If you have any questions about dental health or the upcoming screening, please feel free to contact the school nurse.

Wishing you a healthy and happy February!

Warm regards,
Nurse Ashleigh
